Often, when a person is intensely anxious about an anticipated experience, it's because they've had (or others close to them or with whom they closely identify have had) at least one significant past experience that has resulted in fear of similar future negative experiences.

Finding a safe person with whom to explore experiences and feelings can reduce overall stress and anxiety and improve resilience.

Also, giving voice to your own views with the help of someone who can help you to think through how to stay true to yourself and your values and promote safety in challenging contexts can improve your sense of well-being and confidence and satisfaction with your life choices.

Many people never fully process stressful or traumatic life events because they are afraid to reflect on the experience(s) alone and afraid of how another person would respond if told. Also, many people may not know a trustworthy person with enough time to accompany them on their journey of exploration and healing. Therapy can provide a safe and confidential context to do the internal work necessary to heal, to make meaning, and to move forward healthily.

Together, we'll explore past, recent, or ongoing experiences that disturb your inner peace or impact your relationships. Having explored past experiences, you'll be better equipped to determine which of your current fears and anxieties are still warranted and which aren't.

Clarifying what you can and can't control and taking steps to address your concerns proactively are important steps toward helping you to take your power back and restore or build internal peace, basic trust in others, or meaningful community.

Come be yourself, practice living out of who you are and what you value, and have authentic conversations safely and confidentially.
